Con Nowhere Fabio Domenicali ci conduce in un percorso intimo, fatto di immagini create in luoghi e tempi diversi, ricomposte in un’inedita geografia mentale. I paesaggi aperti, le atmosfere sospese, i silenzi di una natura che sembra infinita rimandano all’immaginario estetico nordamericano: non quello delle grandi città, ma quello remoto, solitario, dove lo spazio prevale sul tempo. Echi di Robert Adams, Joel Sternfeld, Alec Soth e suggestioni cinematografiche che ricordano Twin Peaks o I segreti di Brokeback Mountain attraversano un lavoro che, in un crescendo di emozioni, racconta due universi convergenti: la natura imponente, con la forza dei suoi elementi e il suo ciclo vitale, e l’essere umano, con i suoi simboli e i suoi totem. «Nowhere non è un luogo geografico, ma uno spazio mentale» afferma l’autore. In questo spazio immaginario e poetico, dove i colori caldi si alternano a un bianco e nero materico, l’essere umano e la natura dialogano e si rispecchiano. Nowhere tesse un racconto coinvolgente ed evocativo, che ci invita a riflettere su noi stessi e sul mondo che ci circonda, sui pericoli che nasconde e sulla bellezza che offre, ma anche sulla necessità di superare il significato letterale di ciò che viene rappresentato e guardare oltre la superficie delle cose.

With Nowhere, Fabio Domenicali takes us on an intimate journey, made up of images from different places and times, reassembled into a unique mental geography. Wide open landscapes, timeless atmospheres and a silent, seemingly endless nature all recall the North American imagery – not that of the big cities, but the more remote, secluded one, where space prevails over time. Echoes of Robert Adams, Joel Sternfeld and Alec Soth, as well as cinematic influences reminiscent of Twin Peaks or Brokeback Mountain, run through a body of work which, in an emotional crescendo, depicts two converging worlds: a majestic nature, with its powerful elements and its life cycle, and the human being, with their symbols and totems. “Nowhere is not a geographical location, but a mental space,” explains the artist. In this imaginary and poetic space, where warm colours alternate with textured black and white, the human being and nature dialogue and reflect one another. Nowhere weaves a compelling and evocative narrative, inviting us to reflect on ourselves and the world around us, on the dangers it conceals and the beauty it offers; but also on the need to look beyond the literal meaning of what is depicted and see beneath the surface of things.
