Long Walk Home è un libro in due volumi del fotografo Robbie Lawrence, nato in Scozia e residente a Londra, che esplora gli Highland Games. Long Walk Home is a two-volume book by Scottish-born, London-based photographer Robbie Lawrence, exploring the Highland Games. Photographing both in the Scottish Highlands and in North America, his images question the notion of belonging to a place. “We do not need to have been born in a place – we do not even need to have seen it – to enter into its mythology, because myths are not historical. Myths are elective – not at the level of consciousness, not as an informed and deliberate choice, but as an expression of something more fundamental and, at the same time, more lyrical. History is what places us in our position, binding us to social norms, conventions, and limitations; myths allow us to wander, making room for imagination, reinvention, and a sense of belonging…” — John Burnside

Nato a Edimburgo, Robbie Lawrence è un fotografo e regista noto per il suo sguardo raffinato e il suo approccio narrativo. Lavora tra fotografia documentaria, ritratto e moda, unendo sensibilità emotiva e attenzione ai dettagli. Le sue immagini raccontano l'esperienza umana attraverso temi come luogo, identità e appartenenza. Born in Edinburgh, Robbie Lawrence is a photographer and filmmaker known for his refined eye and narrative approach. His images explore the human experience through themes such as place, identity, and belonging. His style combines journalistic observation with atmospheric exploration, balancing reality and abstraction. His major projects include Long Walk Home, A Voice Above the Linn, Blackwater River, and MANN, a project dedicated to the famous and dangerous motorcycle race on the Isle of Man. In 2022, he held his first institutional solo exhibition in the United Kingdom at Stills Gallery in Edinburgh. His work has also been exhibited at the ICA, Paris Photo, and Photo London. He has collaborated with major international brands and publications, including Adidas, Cartier, Hermès, The New York Times, TIME, and Vogue.
